Hand selected by our renowned Curemaster Rufus Brown, our Curemaster's Reserve hams are quite simply the best county hams available. Starting with the finest cuts of meat and carefully monitored during the curing process, these uncooked gourmet hams are aged to their full potential. The result is a leaner, slightly saltier ham with intense aromas and flavor.

To keep your ham at its freshest we recommend wrapping the ham to prevent the meat from drying out. Refrigerate and wrap the ham with foil or butcher paper once the ham has been cut into.

Curemaster's Reserve Mangalitsa Ham - $275.00
Johnston County Hams is now offering our Curemaster Reserve Mangalitsa hams from Heath Putnam Farms. These limited number hams are the first Mangalitsa hams to be cured in North America.

The Mangalitsa pig produces more monounsaturated fat than modern breeds which produces a pleasant aroma and a buttery flavor. The breed was imported by Heath Putnam to the United States from Austria. Our curemaster Rufus Brown says he has never tasted a finer cured ham or bacon than the ones from the Mangalitsa pigs.

We are proud to offer a traditional Mangalitsa whole ham with the leg and foot on . This ham can be placed in a European ham rack for slicing or hung until carving.

Curemaster's Reserve Mangalitsa Shoulder - $159.00
In addition to our Mangalitsa hams, we are also proud to offer a cured Mangalitsa shoulder which is cured with the leg and foot. The shoulder will be a smaller leaner cut than the ham with a slightly bolder taste.

The Mangalitsa pig produces more monounsaturated fat than modern breeds which results in a pleasant aroma and a buttery flavor. This breed was imported recently by Heath Putnam Farms to the United States from Austria.
